I Finally Got the Adorable Snoopy Mug That’s Been on My Wish List for Months

Like many others, I’ve grown up with Peanuts cartoons, both in print and on TV. I regularly read the comics while my dad absorbed the rest of the paper, and of course, I watched the Charlie Brown movies and television specials. Without much effort, Peanuts’ classic characters have been a constant presence in one way or another and are instantly recognizable. It’s also likely you have a favorite character or two: Mine are Woodstock and Linus. In fact, one of my favorite accessories is a blue Linus scarf that’s modeled after his blanket. So, when Hallmark dropped this adorable Linus and Snoopy Peanuts mug, I immediately added it to my wish list.

I hesitated to get this piece right away because my mug collection is already extensive — but the longer I waited, the more I worried that it would someday sell out. (My scarf did, after all.) Many months later, seven to be exact, I finally took the leap and bought it. I’m only sorry I waited so long!

Featuring an all-too familiar interaction between Snoopy and Linus, this 17-ounce ceramic mug is a highly rated find (4.9 out of 5 stars!) to add to your drinkware collection. Sturdy and oversized, the mug sticks to a limited color palette that’s reminiscent of newspaper comics, right down to the illustrated “ZIP” of Linus suddenly and skillfully pulling his beloved blue blanket from underneath Snoopy. It has a two-sided design that shows Snoopy flipping upside down on one half and Linus snatching his blanket on the other. The blanket itself forms the biggest standout feature as it trails from Linus’ hands and goes three-dimensional to become the mug’s handle.

Not including its handle, this charming Snoopy and Linus mug measures 4×3.7 inches, which doesn’t quite reach “jumbo” status, but it’s certainly larger than the average 8- to 12-ounce mug. Its size makes it a great choice for serious coffee, hot cocoa, and tea drinkers — or those who simply love the Peanuts gang. One thing to note about this mug is that it’s dishwasher safe, but not microwave safe. However, like any dishware that you’d like to preserve the longevity of, handwashing is your best bet.

Believe it or not, it’s not common to find Peanuts products that feature Linus alone or with one other character. I’ve always stumbled upon them unexpectedly, so coming across the Linus and Snoopy mug was a pleasant surprise! I love how large the mug is because I can really enjoy the cartoon details from the motion of the blanket to Snoopy flying through the air. Plus, the blanket handle feature is just a really cool design choice in general — it’s what drew my eye to the mug in the first place!

I’m really happy with the thickness of the mug and how well it’s built overall. The limited colors stand out on the white base of the cup, and there’s even a bit of shine and texture to the line art that stands out in contrast to the mug’s matte ceramic body. Not being microwave-safe is not at all a deal-breaker since I rarely (if ever) put mugs in the microwave. I’m looking forward to many days spent with this mug filled to the brim with everything from hot chocolate and marshmallows (oversized mugs are the best for it!) to tea, coffee, and ice cream.
